Incoterms® or delivery terms are the agreements between the buyer and the seller of the goods and describe who bears which duties, responsibilities, costs and risks. Incoterms® 2010 is a globally recognised standard and has been established by the international Chamber of Commerce. Incoterms allow customs to determine the owner of the shipment at any time during the journey. Incoterms consist of 11 different (3-letter coded) conditions, which set out the division of duties, responsibilities, costs and risks. The 11 Incoterms are also divided into 2 main groups, 7 Incoterms for multimodal transport and 4 Incoterms for maritime and inland waterway transport.
